Lobbying 101 -- Lobby your legislators NOW!
- You can see, call, email or write your legislators any day -- to see them in person it helps to set up an appointment. Contact info is on your districts page.
- Go to your district page (see buttons below) to find out more about your legislators, contact info and talking (writing) points and tips.
- For more history and information about the ERA and why we need one check the Materials page for our Power Point presentation (especially pages 30 -45 for why and arguments against an ERA)
The most important thing you can do now is to talk to your legislator! They all need to know that having Equal Rights is a top issue for you, that putting an ERA in our MN state constitution is LONG overdue. We would like our legislators flooded with postcards, emails, telephone calls and personal visits. If you can't make it in person -- please mail a postcard, send an email or make a phone call. (Find out more about your legislators below.) Even if they share your same views -- you need to let them know! Why? Because if they only hear from people who oppose their view they'll think no body really wants it.
Talk to Your Representative about the ERA
You can use any of the following language to talk about the ERA with your representative or use it in the ERA postcard, an email or letter.
Once you know your District -- click on a button below to go to your page, then click on your district number to find out your Senator and Representatives, including where they stand on the ERA issue and what you could encourage them to do. FYI: Information will be updated as it comes in. Website may be more current than print out sheet.
