We want an Equal Rights Amendment on the Minnesota ballot in 2016 and we want the deadline for ratification of the federal ERA removed. Join us!
More than 500 people came together at the ERAMN Day At The Capitol honoring International Women's Day, A Day Without Women on March 8, 2017. Not only were the hallways filled with supporters but so too was the press conference held by ERAMN along with chief Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) bill authors Senators Sandy Pappas, Richard Cohen & Scott Dibble, and Representatives Frank Hornstein, Ilhan Omar and Rena Moran. This turnout precipitated a significant media commentary including a Star Tribune article and an editorial endorsing the 3-State Strategy removing the June 30,1982 deadline on the ERA. That editorial, along with the now iconic photo of a capitol building staircase bursting with people dressed in red, was shared with ERA activists nationwide resulting in a groundswell of excitement and expectation over finally ratifying an equal rights amendment into our constitution. Stay tuned for next steps!
ERA Minnesota (ERAMN) is a coalition of individuals and organizations working to secure an Equal Rights Amendment to the State and Federal Constitutions.
